Streetela

Being the local art lovers that we are, me and Krystle went to Streetela this past weekend.
Featuring street art, graffiti, graphic designers and urban artists, Streetela had a laid back vibe and a cool attitude.
I loved the idea of artists coming together to form a common ground and give love to their peers. I also loved that the art was so accessible. The audience could admire an artists work, and if they loved it they could buy it , or a version on a t-shirt for a more than reasonable price.

My favorite artists featured were the "Paper Twins" These gals have been beautifying the streets of Atlanta with their pretty and playful characters. Their work is technically illegal, so they remain anonymous, but if you ask me this kind of graffiti should be mandatory in all neighbourhoods.

I also really enjoyed the work of PFL. His bold and intricate paintings are visually stunning. I would love to have one of his works cover the entire outside of the coffee shop! I may just have to settle for one of his smaller works.

Check out the Streetela website HERE and buy a t-shirt or a tote from your favorite artist.

Artsy Monday

Yesterday my good friend David Jennings and his friend Rebecca Crawford came to our building for a photo shoot. The results were absolutely beautiful. I adore Rebecca's ethereal beauty against the backdrop of our rustic exposed brick and rafters. Here are some of my favorite shots. Nice job David!

So pretty!

Gorgeous!

This last one made me want to start a rumor about the ghost of a Spanish dancer that roams around the Hodgepodge building. Isn't it the most hauntingly beautiful shot?
Oh my gosh I am so in love with these pictures and I'm so glad that we could provide the backdrop for some art even if I couldn't make them a cuppa yet!

David is available as a make up artist and photographer, you can visit his website at
