Queen for a day.
Ashley and I decided to raise our spirits and take a gander at Kudzu, my maybe favorite store in the world. I squealed more than a Cheerleader in a pet store.
We know exactly where we'd put this beauty, if only it wasn't so expensive. I sat for a full 5 minutes just admiring it's deliciousness.
Hopefully we'll be able to raise the funds to put it in Hodgepodge.
We had such a fun day, something about all of those gems, loved in a past life makes me feel peaceful. It also inspires me to paint...so excuse me if you will, I have a mess to make xoxo

So dreamy.

Ashley, Krystle and me have been scouring the city of Atlanta to find groovy furniture for the Coffee house, so we were thrilled to bits when I read on Natty Michelle's blog that City Hall East was having a massive garage sale.
We scored tables and chairs galore and got a very nice gentleman to drive them to Moreland in the back of his pick up for $30, a coke and a Twix bar :)
I'm excited to paint them.... less excited about scraping off gum that may have been there for 20 years :P
Love this picture of Ashley looking all excited, even after she got dust and nasty all over her pretty shirt.

It rocks to know awesome people.
Our amazing pals Brian and Sahara are helping us build out a rad bar and a shelving unit for merchandise.
Which means that it's time to think about decorating!
I am soooooo excited.
Time for an inspiration post methinks.
I want to fill those pretty glass vases with flowers.

Winnie the Pooh...

Look at our lovely paint color. I love that it's Behr's Disney paint. The fact that it's called "Pooh's favorite things" just makes me smile.

4 goals

I read a lot of blogs, but Elsie Flannigans www.abeautifulmess.typepad is hands down my favorite. She's an indie shop owner herself and is always inspiring me to be more creative and to follow my dreams. She has a new post on her blog entitled "4 Simple Goals" that is intended to make our lives " richer and happier on a daily basis". With the million and one things we have to get done for Hodgepodge to open it's doors, I thought I would make 4 simple goals that will keep me motivated and happy during this process.
So, my goals are
1- Paint or draw when I feel the need to. Sometimes I feel like it's such a great luxury to spend time painting, but really it's good for me as it calms me and makes me ridiculously happy. I have a paint "high" after I've created something that I'm proud of.
2-Go on more "dates" with my husband. In this process I am sure he is feeling neglected, and he still needs to know that he's my #1.
3-Make my house more of a "home". I want to add some more personality to my condo. It feels kinda boring. It's always the thing that gets put back on my list to the very end. I want to get shelves, more artwork, better curtains and candles as a start.
4- Take more photographs, and frame/journal them. Everyone in my immediate family is an awesome photographer, so this will give me something else to share with them. I want to get myself a toy camera to play with to begin I think. Like the one below.
What are your 4 simple goals?
